Expectations about the availability of the Ultra-Mobile PC R2H made by Asustek have been on the air for a long time, but there is no need to worry about it anymore because the official announcement was made and the famous UMCP is currently on the market for more than $1,000 – sadly there isn't information on a exact price yet. Besides Asus R2H there is another smaller model (R1H) being developed by the same people which will probably make use of the Intel Core2 Duo platform and have smaller dimensions (read 13-inch).

This information is provided by a Chinese Commercial Times report in which they also include details about the expectations and intentions of both devices made by a Benson Lin (Asia-Pacific Asustek President), their target is to use the UMCP inside cars and try to ship at least 3 thousand units (R2H and R1H included) per month. About the R2H, the latest info was that it had a 7-inch display with a 1.3megapixel camera and featured USB, GPS, InstantFun for games and many more.
