Asus, one of the leading manufacturers of computer pheripherals, today announced the Ultra-Portable PC in Asus R2H, at the CeBIT 2006, Hannover Germany. The ASUS R2H is just about the size of a PSP(Play Station Portable) system. Well, talk of portability, this one hell of a Tablet Pc easily competes with even the best in the business. Lets say for an example, even Samsung's latest Q1. The higher-end version includes of a fingerprint reader and built-in GPS.
It offers a 7-inch display with a sort of 'ok' brightness, but adds an additional ASUS-developed interface to further simplify navigation around the system. Impressively, ASUS has also managed to find room for a front-mounted 1.3 Megapixel for video conferencing. On the connectivity side of it, the R2H has a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR. It includes a SDIO capable SD/MMC card expansion slot and, again, USB for expansion purposes. A hard drive is also present, although ASUS declined to comment on its size as specifications for the device have yet to be finalized. Also in addition there is a complex security system from both hardware and software sides protect data integrity in case of theft.
The Aus R2H is expected to go into production in the May time frame. For more information visit Asus Website
