asuka.jpgAsuka Semiconductor, a Taiwan-based digital TV module solution provider and system design house has announced the release of the ARA K-60, a handheld DVB-T TV and it has the size of 115 x 77 x 21mm which is the world's smallest handheld device. It weight about 190 grams only. It boasts a 3-inch low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) TFT LCD panel display with resolutions of 960 x 240 pixels and a built-in telescopic antenna. The ARA K-60 is fully compliant with DVB-T standards and can therefore receive Digital TV and radio broadcasts. The ARA K-60 can also operate as a set-top box (STB), through its A/V output and A/V cord. What's under the roof? It boost a 350 nits of brightness, contract ratio of 300:1, 110-degree of angle visibility and frequency range of 470 - 862MHz (UHF). The unit can also support moderate mobility, between 40-80km per hour. A polymer battery allows up to three hours of DTV broadcast reception. No words on the availability and pricing yet.
