If you've been waiting for the newest (and smallest) kid on the block, well, the wait is over. The iPod shuffle in its all-new avataar will be available starting this Friday across Apple retail stores. About half the size of its predecessor, the new iPod shuffle weighs just 0.5 oz and comes with an integrated clip for comfortable wearing.

With 1GB on-board memory, the iPod shuffle offers a lot of space for storing your media. Apple claims a 12-hour battery life on this baby. Simply connect the device to a Mac or PC with the included dock and take advantage of seamless integration with iTunes software and the music store.

The shuffle also features iMix playlist sharing and is compatible with USB 2.0 for high-speed transfers.

Priced at US $79, the new iPod shuffle will hit the stores on November 3, 2006.
