Apogee Speakers for iPods, MP3 Players
Apogee International (no, not the games manufacturer) has made available the following speaker products suitable for your iPod/MP3 player:
IBS-301
The Apogee IBS-301 is an iPod-compatible speaker set with its own Infrared remote. The dock doubles up as a charger for your iPod, and the neat part is it's compatible with all generations of the iPod. The IBS-301 features 2x5W amps with two aluminum satellite speakers for clear audio quality.
The remote works over a 7-meter range, and has a full-function 16-keypad control. Each speaker weighs around 282 grams, and offers RMS power in excess of 4W (with peaks in the 8W range). Don't throw out your home entertainment system, yet!
IBS-301OTG
The Apogee IBS-301OTG is a better bet if you rely on digital audio players other than the iPod. It features almost all the good things of the IBS-301, and adds support for USB pen drive and other MP3 players so you can play audio from a variety of sources.
It is also capable of charging your iPod/MP3 player via USB.
The Apogee IPS-220 is a versatile speaker set with a dock that is compatible not only with your iPod, but also a wide variety of devices including MP3 players, mobile phones, laptops, PDAs, etc. thanks to the audio jack. However, the dock's charger is capable of recharging only iPod mini/iPod nano models.
