alienware viiv_gallery_2_big.jpgAlienware has announced the new Area-51 5400 Portable Entertainment Desktop system. One look at the 5400 and you'd think it was a slightly oversized laptop system. It's actually an all in one entertainment oriented desktop system designed using Intel's Viiv Technology platform.

The new Area-51 5400 comes with Intel's Core Duo technology which results in a lower power consuming system. This leads to an ultra quiet system which means the desktop is ideal in any home environment including the bedroom, home office, dorm, or kitchen.

Other features on the Alienware 5400 include 802.11 a/b/g support, Bluetooth support, NVIDIA GeForce Go 6600 graphics, integrated camera with microphone, and an optional TV tuner. The desktop is due to come out in February of this year.

Check out Alienware's Viiv page for more information.
