Acer has just unveiled a series of new business notebooks, the ultra-portable TravelMate 3020 which would be available in white. According to Acer, white will reflect values like ‘pureness, cleanliness and maximum lightness’. Okay Acer we believe you, but just don’t go totally spiritual on us! Anyways jokes apart these new white notebooks may just catch on with its trendy design and overall functionality. One can configure it according to ones needs and budgets and incorporate everyone’s favorite Intel Centrino Mobile Technology Duo platform.

The Acer TravelMate 3020 series have plans to live up to its name and hence weigh just 1.5Kg and has compact, ‘A4 sheet’ dimensions. For further mobility Acer has thrown in a 12 inch widescreen (WXGA) format LCD panel, with a pixel resolution of 1280x800 and a battery life of 5.5 hours. For an enhance visual experience one can opt for the Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 and take full advantage of Acer GridVista which organizes Desktop area views when working with multiple program windows. Connectivity options include dual-band tri-mode IEEE 802.11a/b/g WiFi Certified solution, WLAN, LAN, WPAN (Bluetooth 2.0), dial up and optical (FIR).

For video telephony and web communication there is the Acer OrbiCam – an LCD panel-mounted 1.3 megapixel CMOS camera and the optional Acer VoIP Bluetooth phone. To make users secure ,Acer has thrown in Acer GraviSense technology which on detecting motion retracts the disk heads and then there is the Anti Theft technology which warns you if the system is being moved. The notebooks comes preloaded with Windows XP Professional operating system as their OS and have a heady mix of applications like Acer’s Empowering Technology (eDataSecurity, eLock, ePerformance, eRecovery, eSettings, eNet, ePower and ePresentation), Acer GridVista, Adobe Reader, Cyberlink Power DVD, NTI CD-Maker and Norton AntiVirus.
