You know the next big thing will be the 64-bit world. With dual-core technology, expect the 5100 series to boost your productivity.

Starting with a serial ATA hard drive (with capacities up to 160GB), the 5100 is equipped with a DVD super-multi double layer drive and a 5-in-1 media reader. The keyboard has a set of dedicated media keys for frequently used operations. For improved user experience, a one-touch Empowering Key is provided - this is Acer's Empowering Technology software suite at work.

The Acer Aspire 5100 sports a brilliant 15.4" widescreen display thanks to CrystalBrite technology, a glossy coating improving 3D experience as well as adding image definition for movies and multimedia. With a rated panel reaction time of 16 ms, the 5100 is suitable for gaming as well.

The display is powered by an ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 graphics card (up to 512MB memory), the Acer Arcade multimedia software suite allows you to browse images, play audio and DVD video. WLAN is integrated, while Bluetooth is optinal. Other essentials include USB 2.0 ports, a Firewire port, S-Video/TV-Out port and an ExpressCard slot.
