Samsung Digimax S1000 Digital Camera

Another new camera to join the ranks of the famous Samsung S Series, is the Samsung S1000 which boasts a impressive 10 megapixels of resolution, a large 2.5 inch LCD screen and a 3x optical zoom which is also functional in the movie mode. The S1000 like its younger sibling S700 also has a host of manual features which according to Samsung will appeal to the more serious photographer.

The Samsung Digimax S1000 has a great design which isn’t surprising since its part of the S series cameras. However it’s not all about the looks, and Samsung is aware of that. They have thrown a number of cool features including the ability to edit movies or images on the camera itself. For editing images, users will find the Trimming function and the Resizing function pretty handy. For those who want to try their skills on editing videos, will also appreciate the fact that don’t need to do so via a PC. The S1000 has a decent move mode too and can record more than one-hour of high quality VGA (640×480) video at 30 fps when using a 256 MB memory card. Viewers are also assured of quality playback on an LCD or TV Screen thanks to the VGA technology.

The Samsung Digimax S1000 has a number of Scene Modes including Landscape, Close-Up, Sunset, Dawn, Backlight, Fireworks and Beach & Snow. There is a Special Effects Hot Key present on the digicam which lets one access cool effects like B/W, sepia, blue, red, green or Negative, Highlight, Photo Frame and Composite Shot. The S1000 has an internal memory of 16MB and includes features like voice recording for up to one hour, voice memo and One-touch Playback" which instantly playbacks an image even if the camera is shut off. The S1000 would be available around August 2006 at a price of $349.99.

“The 'S' Series cameras are perfect for everyone from beginners to advanced digital photographers,” says Stewart Henderson, National Marketing Manager at Samsung Opto Electronics. “With the addition of the S700 and the S1000, we have bolstered our already strong and comprehensive range of digital still cameras. This, combined with the recent launch of our NV Series, enables us to deliver products that meet the needs of a diverse dealer and consumer base.”
