Lexar_8GB_CF.jpgLexar Media yesterday announced that it has increased the performance of its popular Professional 8GB CompactFlash memory card to a new stage that reaches 133X. The new card has an amazing minimum sustained data write speed of 20MB/sec. Bringing up a CompactFlash memory card to this stage of performance definitely will improved the digital imaging workflow for photographers. It is specially designed to speed up image capture times by taking advantage of a Digital SLR camera's high-speed processor. Do you know how they rate the speed of the card? They use the same rating system used by the CD-ROM industry, where data transfer rate of 1X equals 150 kilobytes (KB) per second. I guess all professionals know that a single image can be more valuable than all their images combined. A hard disk failure isn't just a problem, it's a disaster! Lexar’s new 133X 8GB CompactFlash will be available in August for the suggested price of $424.99.
