Samsung engineers have managed to come up with a PMP which sports a 2.4 inch AMOLED display. The device is not just a mere eye candy, it has got a lot to it than those sleek stunning looks. The new device makes use of an active matrix on LED screen, unlike the conventional PMPs which makes use of TFT LCDs. AMOLED is considered to be the key for next generation display since it consumes less power than TFT-LCD when it plays videos.

Unlike conventional TFT-LCD features 68% of color gamut (NTSC), AMOLED features 100% of it. Also, AMOLED can provide optimal brightness and contrast ratio without any loss of quality at 30-degree viewing angle according to the company official. It also supports a resolution of 240 x 320, 16 million colors and 200 cd/m2 brightness. It is expected to hit Korea stores before the end of the year.
