Hitachi has announced a new laptop called the FLORA Se210 which is intended for enterprise use and does not come with a hard drive. The Se210 uses Microsoft Windows XP Embedded and Hitachi will market the notebook as a "secure client solution" terminal.
To further emphasize the security, the FLORA Se210 will come in two models - one with "Finger Vein Recognition" and one without. The finger vein recognition as you can tell by the name, verifies a person's identity based on the vein pattern on the finger. This technique is supposedly one of the fastest ways to tell and hardest to falsify in terms of identity verification. The vein pattern is revealed by exposing and LED light source to a finger placed on a sensor.
