Recorder is the name of the iPhone Application made by Retronyms that crossed the mark of 200,000 downloads.
In case you don’t know, Recorder lets iPhone and iPod (2G) users easily record and playback audio. Afterwards they can email it directly from the iPhone, or alternatively, transfer it to a computer via WiFi. What made it so popular was being the first recording application that could support synchronization via email and WiFi. Nowadays there are probably more applications with the same function…

We’re excited to be able to announce this milestone, because as far as we know, we’re the first paid app to get this many sales. For all of the people out there on the Internet trying to guess what the free/paid split is in the App Store, this gives you an idea.
In addition to Recorder there is another iPhone App called FourTrack, that is made for musicians to create multi-layer songs on the Apple Phone. Both applications are currently available at the App store.
