Research In Motion Snags Blackpad.com, BlackBerry Tablet ForthcomingBy Jeff Baker - 07/29/2010 5:01:06 AM |
The tablet market was really kick started with the release of Apple‘s critically acclaimed iPad. However, while we’ve seen many capable competitors being brought to the table (some powered by Google’s Android) not many have been released. One tablet that has been rumored for quite some time is a device from Research in Motion commonly referred to as the BlackBerry tablet.
Unfortunately, RIM has yet to confirm this device’s existence but we have a pretty decent hint to go by. According to recent reports, the domain name blackpad.com has been acquired by Research in Motion leading many to believe that they will be launching a tablet device dubbed the BlackPad.
If you’ll remember, just yesterday we let you know that RIM and AT& T would be holding a joint press conference next Tuesday – perhaps the BlackPad is what they will be talking about? We’ll have to wait and find out.
