PSP Slim Details Leaked
As the redesigned Playstation Portable nears completion, some information has been leaked from sources close to Sony. The new PSP will basically keep the same internal hardware, with just a few minor changes. First off, a new LED display will provide a crisp, clearer image while allowing a much slimmer profile for the unit. Battery life will also improve as a result from the reduced power consumtion from the LED screen. The UMD drive is still used but will be much faster and provide better loadtimes and gameplay. 8GB of internal flash memory will also be provided for users. Last but not least, the D-pad sees some changes, providing one like that on the PS3 gamepad. It is a possibility that Sony will incorporate an integrated camera, but with the competitive pricing we will most likely not see such a feature.
Pricing and sale date have not been set, but Sony hopes sell the "PSP Slim" for under $170 sometime around August. The new PSP will be officially revealed at the 2007 E3.
