HP Photosmart 8250 Photo Printer
Today HP announced the HP Photosmart 8250 Photo Printer it is priced at $199 and is available this month via hpshopping.com and major retailers.
The HP Photosmart 8250 is a printer capable of printing 10 x 15 cm photos in a fast 14 seconds with it’s six individual ink cartridges. This new cartridge system ensures less waste of ink but also speed. It will do black text at up to 32 ppm and color documents at up to 31 ppm.

There are a few drawbacks. This is HP's first fast printer with new printhead technology. As with all firsts, we encountered some glitches in the software that later models will no doubt rectify. It may be worth waiting a few months for HP to introduce even faster models before deciding which printer to buy."

This printer is great if you: 1) have a digital camera with one of the compatible memory card types (my Olympus did not), 2) have a bluetooth compatible computer and the required adaptors (mine did not), 3)have enough desk space for a large footprint, and 4) don't mind spending alot of money on small ink cartridges (I replaced 3 cartridges in order to print 120 4X6 photos in "draft" mode). This printer's ink cartridges was apparently made to increase HP profits -- at consumer's expense. Bottom Line: I'm selling mine; there are many other cheaper printers with greater compatibility in function and economy in ink.
