Fujitsu ScanSnap Scanner
Fujitsu unveiled the new ScanSnap scanner, their first scanner compatible with Apple's Macintosh platform. Supporting Mac OS X version 10.4 (Tiger), Mac users now have an affordable and easy-to-use color scanner allowing them to convert paper documents to PDF files that can then be shared and better protected than the paper version.
The ScanSnap comes with a 50-page automatic document feeder, or ADF, truly making the capture of paper information a snap.
Till now, the ScanSnap was available only for Windows users; so it's good news for the Mac folks out there (yeah, the number may be small right now, but if it moves to x86 - you never know). It boats of "one-button" scanning, allowing users to scan at speeds of 15 pages per minute for single-sided documents. Bundled Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard software (a US $299 value) gives you the option to create authentic, searchable PDF files.
Fujitsu ScanSnap is priced at $495 and is available online at Fujitsu's website.
