Epson launched their new 6-color printer, the Epson Stylus Photo R220, a photo-quality printer. The Stylus R220 is an affordable solution aimed at home users and comes in a feature-rich and user-friendly package.

Enhancements in the Stylus R220 over previous models include better color saturation for brighter reds and yellows and automatic image enhancement for pictures where the subject is backlit. An added advantage with the R220 is the ability to print directly onto inkjet-printable CDs/DVDs, giving them a professional look.

Epson Stylus R220 uses ultra-fine ink droplets - as little as three picoliters - and Micro Piezo inkjet technology for precision color, allowing up to 5760x1440 optimized dpi quality prints. For CDs and DVDs, you can create your own graphics on a desktop and transfer them onto the surface of the discs. It features BorderFree printing in the more popular photo sizes like 4"x6", 5"x7" and 8"x10".

At US $99, the Epson Stylus R220 is on the street to make waves. It offers a USB 2.0 interface and is compatible with both Windows and Mac platforms. The printer can be ordered online from Epson's retail web site.
