When used as a standalone printer, end users can easily print from any of 8 pre-set label formats or 10 custom label formats, simply by selecting the label design from the QL-650TD's front panel LCD display. For example, to print a label with the current time and date, the user simply selects 'Date+Time' from the on-screen menu, and the QL-650TD automatically prints '8/12/05 12:09' on a label, then feeds and cuts the label to the right length. Other pre-set label formats include combinations of message, time, date and number sequence, where the message can be pre-set, depending on the facility's needs - to 'Received', 'Manufactured' or another message.

In addition, labels can be custom designed on a PC using the included label design software, and then downloaded and stored into the QL-650TD's built-in memory, for future standalone printing. Custom designed labels can include bar codes, company logos and more.

2-dimensional bar codes, fine text and high-density data, and helps ensure that data is highly scannable and easy to read.
When used as a PC-connected label printer, the Brother QL-650TD is an extremely versatile machine. Users can print labels directly from Microsoft(R) Word, Excel and Outlook, just with a quick 'highlight-click-&-print', or can use Brother's intuitive label-creation software, which is included. TrueType(R) fonts, company logos, time/date stamps, bar codes (including postnet bar codes) can all be printed quickly, and the software can automatically adjust text to fit on your label. Plus, the new Address Book software, also included, allows you to store and quickly print commonly used names and addresses.
The QL-650TD is Windows(R) and Mac compatible, through a USB interface, and can accept ASCII data through its serial interface.
Brother offers 18 different label supply rolls - nine pre-cut sizes (1" round; 1/2" round; file folder labels; shipping or name badge labels; standard, large, small and return address labels; and CD/DVD labels), plus nine
free-length rolls, perfect for custom banners and signs up to 3 feet long. The free-length rolls are available in both paper and durable film tape, and in removable adhesive paper tape, in three widths, up to 2.4" wide. All supplies
are perfect for most indoor uses.**
