Lexmark New Range Of Multifunctional Printers ( X850e, X852e, X644e, X646dte)
Since it's inception Lexmark International, Inc has made its name as one of the leading companies for printing and imaging solutions and can be considered a global player .As with any global giant, one needs to update and bring in new products periodically. Lexmark has just done that with the introduction of not one but five new multifunctional printers.
All these printers though multifunctional are still very user friendly and Lexmark has given special care not too make them very complicated. The new printers include Lexmark X644e MFP, Lexmark X646dte MFP, Lexmark X850e MFP, Lexmark X852e MFP and the Lexmark X854e MFP.We shall now look closely at the following in details below:
The Lexmark X644e MFP is user friendly product and has the now famous Lexmark e-Task 8-inch (20 cm) color touch screen for print, copy, fax and scan-to-email functions. With 256 RAM and an expandable memory of 768MB printing is done at lightening speed with upto 50 pages per minute.One can scan upto 600x600 dpi in black and up to 600x300 dpi in color and all this at a price of $ 2,499.00
The Lexmark X646dte MFP priced at$ 3,449.00 like its counterpart is also very easy to use and has similar features like a 256 MB RAM a color screen etc. However this also has a feature of Hard disk wiping and AES encryption, IPv6, SNMPv3, SSL*, IPSec and 802.1x authentication and user authentication for security.
The Lexmark X646dte MFP at a price of $ 10,799.00 has an e-Task 8-inch (20 cm) color touch screen and an easy interface with AES encryption and Hard Disk wiping to boost. It has a mighty 625 MHz processor and a time to first copy as quick as 10 seconds. One can do direct printing from PDF and image (TIFF, JPEG) files and it also has offset stacking and hole punch capability.
The Lexmark X852e MFP at $ 13,999.00 is a wide format advanced printer -Task 8-inch (20 cm) color touch screen, 625 MHz processor, standard 256MB RAM, Hard disk wiping and AES encryption, IPv6, SNMPv3, SSL*, IPSec and 802.1x authentication. Fujitsu announced that its new ScanSnap fi-5110EOXM scanner for Apple Macs will be on demo at Macworld 2006, happening in January. The ScanSnap has won Macworld 2005 Editors' Choice award. It is the only single-pass duplex auto-doc feeding scanner compatible with the Macs out there.
Sharp announced that its new AR-C360P Digital IMAGER color workgroup printer is now available. The AR-C360P is targeted at high-volume color printing, and offers speeds of color output at 36 PPM (pages per minute), with B&W printing at 40 PPM.

Ricoh announced the new Aficio 2020D Multifunction printer that allows you to not only print, but scan, copy and fax documents. The 2020D is capable of printing up to 21 pages per minute.
Dell unveiled the Photo All-In-One Printer 964 in a highly affordable package, allowing you to print, scan and copy with high quality. For faxing, a 33.6 Kbps fax modem is provided, along with a 160 page fax memory.
Xerox announced the WorkCentre PE220 MFP in a compact, affordable package. Capable of copy and print speeds of up to 20ppm (B&W), the PE220 can also scan and fax color documents.
Ricoh unveiled the AC205 Digital Imaging System, introducing a new generation of MFPs. Featuring full color and B&W scanning, Super G3 Faxing, and advanced copier and network printer capabilities, the AC205 employs an all-in-one toner cartridge design.
Epson has introduced it's next generation consumer oriented photo printer with the Epson Stylus Photo R340. This printer is designed for digital photo enthusiasts and has a built in 2.4 inch color LCD display. You can use the display to preview, select, and crop images before they are printed out.

Xerox unveiled the new Phaser 6120 color laser printer, targeting the SME market. The Phaser 6120 is capable of printing 5 ppm in color and 20 ppm in B&W.
Ricoh has introduced the new 480W - a versatile wide format multifunction printer. The 480W is a powerful system that combines many hardware and software solutions into one system. It includes a document server that electronically stores the originals for on-demand printing. A built in 80GB hard drive is used to store the documents.
Ricoh Corporation announced two top-end B&W laser printers from their stable - the Ricoh BP20 and Ricoh BP20N. Capable of printing anything from index cards to legal-size pages, the BP20/BP20N comes with a 250-sheet paper tray.
The BP20, aimed at home office users, comes with parallel and USB 2.0 interfaces and is compatible with a Windows-based computer, while the BP20N comes attached with a 10/100BaseTX Ethernet card to allow multiple users to use the printer. With a warm-up time of less than 40 seconds, the BP20/BP20N are capable of speeds up to 20 pages per minute.
