PixelPlus, a leading Korean semiconductor company, has announced that it will be providing its new PO4010 CIF "System on a Chip" (SOC) image sensors to Samsung in its future camera phones. Targeted at meeting the increasing demand for ultracompact camera solutions in 3G phones, the PO4010 is one of industry's smallest sensors with a size of 1/11 inch. It is based on the company's PlusPixel2 technology and is an ideal solution for the secondary VGA camera used mostly for video-calling on the current 3G phones.

PixelPlus has already started shipping the PO4010 sensory to Samsung Electronics beginning in December 2007.
