Philips M600 to hit the Chinese Market
Not to be mistaken for the other M600, this nice-looking candybar comes from Philips bound for China. While the design doesn't give us much to complain about, this dual-band GSM phone is pretty much low end except for its music-oriented features.
The phone packs a 1.3-megapixel camera, a 2-inch 256k-color 170x220 pixel display, microSD support, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, and Java MIDP 2.0 support. Coming to its better side, its music playing capabilities, a set of in-ear headphones is bundled with the phone and there are dedicated hotkeys for playback control. The device promises to deliver up to 40 hours of continuous music playback on a single charge and supports mp3, MIDI, WMA, WAV, and AMR audio formats. The highlight of the phone has to be its built-in SRS WOW equalizer feature, which renders better sound quality by simulating 3D Surround Sound.
While the M600 is headed to China, the fact that it supports T9 text input in English, French, Turkish, Russian apart from Chinese Simplified and Traditional may be taken as a hint that it won't stay China only for long. No price or release date has been announced yet.
