27 Sep 08 Pantech Matrix Comes from AT&T
The Pantech Matrix phone is schedule to arrive in the U.S. from AT&T soon. The handset a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard which should be heavily used by all those hardcore text and internet users. The phone also sports UMTS/HSDPA support, a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and Video Share support.
We obviously don’t have any pricing and availability yet but when the Matrix hits it will arrive in three colors, red, black and blue. Wonder why it’s called Matrix though.

I agree this phone SUCKS! I just bought one off eBay that was supposedly NEW . I put my SIM card in it and try to set up my email,contacts, etc… and the F_cking thing just keeps rebooting! I wanted to smash it off a wall! I have a iPhone already so I think i’ll stick with that. I just got caught up in the whole slider keyboard thing. What a joke! To make it even better the dumb bitch that sold me this POS wont give me a refund. I’m thinking of taking a shit on it and mailing it back! LOL TO ALL PEOPLE THINKING OF BUYING ONE OF THESE CHEAP ASS PHONES…..DON’T! STICK WITH A BLACKBERRY OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT….DON’T BUY A SLIDER!!!!!IN PARTICULAR A DUO OR ANY OTHER PANTECH POS!!!!
I’ve had the Matrix since February and never had a problem with it until yesterday when the screen went completely white for no reason! I didn’t drop it, spill anything on it, step on it, or anything. Headed straight to Cingular when I get off work. I do not want this phone again and I definitely don’t recommend it.
Phone started off just fine but turned out to be real garbage.Wall charger doesnt work,phone shuts off while im talking,screen turns white,paint is fading on the sides and peeling on top.pantech will not warranty phone cause because of the peeling and paint fading.I have had this junk phone for 6 months and I cant get another because the paint is peeling and fading.Like its my fault they made a rotten product.bottom line,buy cheap,get cheap.Pantech will not stand behind their phones.
I was thinking of getting one too since my phone of five years just died on me today, but after reading this and seeing how hard it is to get it shipped i’m not gonna bother. Thanks for the heads up, so glad i found this forum
i liik this phone but it does reboot mayb the sim is old err somthin..
I love the phone, the only thing that drives me nuts is that the signal sucks. I cannot use it in my house, at my college or many of my friends homes. What is up with that?
I have had the matrix for a year and it is really good and durable (I would know I have dropped it a lot!!!!) it does get problems though (but I thought it was funny when my friend was like is it supposed to do this? And it was slid open both ways at the same time!)
Mine also restarts when testing and when you open the keyboard slowly the screen turns the wrong way but after a few second it turns back
I had my phone for about 6 months, but then the screen turned white when I turned it on after a charging. I took the SD card out, I changed the battery, I restarted it, I took it apart, then reassembled it, NOTHING worked! I really enjoyed it while it lasted, but I DO NOT reccomend(sp?) it to someone who wants a long-lasting phone!
ive had the matrix since christmas in ‘08 and it occasionaly reboots itself, but most phones do that. my main problem with it is that when i slide the keyboard open, the screen wont flip. this happened again a few months ago and my friend fixed it by just sliding it really fast. but im doing that right now and its not working. anyone know how to fix this? i wont get my xenon for another 2 weeks :/
