Palm Launches the Palm preBy Chris - 01/08/2009 4:21:05 PM |

The new Palm handset we’ve been waiting for is the just announced Palm pre. The phone comes with a 3.1 inch multitouch display with a resolution of 320 x 480. A full QWERTY keyboard is ready to slide out underneath and there’s an accelerometer ready, just in case you want to browse the internet in a widescreen fashion. 3G is possible via EVDO REV. A and there’s 802.11b/g WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth with A2Dp and a 3 megapixel camera with LED flash. The pre is running on the new Palm platform and it packs a new TI OMAP CPU to make everything run smoother. It comes with just 8GB of built-in flash storage space which should be more than enough in these first versions. There’s also a microUSB plug and a 3.5 mm headphone jack for you.
The pre is supposed to arrive from Sprint in the first half of 2009 but we have no idea how much it will cost yet. Will it get us any copy-paste support?
