No, the title is not wrong. Although it might look like a candybar cell phone, the DV300T is just a digital camera with nothing really distinguished about it. Equipped with a mediocre 3.1-megapixel camera and no optical zoom to speak of, Mustek tries to make up for its shortcomings with video recording capability in PAL/NTSC, a voice recorder, music player, and a text reader though I am not sure even that would pull any love towards it.
No word on pricing or availability but considering what it carries, must be pretty light on your wallet.

Samsung is definitely not vying for the slimmest or the smallest title with the new SCH-W350/W3500 Korea-only phones but offer much more than style with these two new offerings. With a DMB digital tuner, HSDPA of up 7.2Mpbs, a 3-megapixel digital camera, Bluetooth 2.0, microSD, and world roaming with both WCDMA/GSM support, Samsung seems to have realized that style isn’t everything. This scratch-proof clamshell also has a screen that swivels to a horizontal position making digital TV a real delightful experience.
The Samsung SCH-W350/SPH-W3500 come in colors of pearl black and cherry red and will be $640 and $740 respectively, but too bad we may never see this stateside as this is a Korea only affair.

The Swiss web site, pocketpc.ch, has posted screen captures of the alleged TouchFLO 2.0 called Manila. The GUI was leaked by web site, htcinsider.blogspot.com. This, apparently, might just be the GUI HTC would use for future products and would be releasing later this year. You can go to the htcinsider blog to download the file, but a word of caution — proceed at your own risk. This version of “Manila” was intended for further development. Who knows what’ll happen to your device if you tinker with it.
Head on over to the pocketpc.ch web site for more screen caps and a video.

A new ROM update for the Treo 755p has just been released under the name ROM version 1.07. And guess what — Palm describes it as:
This software update is a tune-up that improves audio, stability, software quality and device usability.
Can’t be any vaguer than that. With the way the description’s written, the update might be mere bug fixes and the like. But hey, then again, a vague update is better than your OS collecting cobwebs, right? It takes around 45 minutes to completely update to Palm Treo 755p ROM version 1.07. Different installation methods for Windows and Mac are available.
See the update info page.

If the lack of a REAL speed dial on the iPhone is driving you nuts, the Speed Dial app by the Big Boss Source might calm your nerves. Yes, this is a REAL speed dial application. No need to input a tel:// URL, a number, and then, to confirm the call via a Safari pop-up. It works like the speed dial features of other phones. Tap on your contact’s name in your iPhone and it’ll automatically dial for you. Add Big Boss to the Installer (http://sleepers.net/iphonerepo), find speed dial in the Utilities section, and you’re ready to speed call anyone you like. The Speed Dial app by Big Boss works with firmware 1.1.3.

Okay, I was overreacting. Motorola isn’t really shutting down, they’re just considering spinning off their mobile phone unit due to the recent slump in figures caused by their lackluster performance after the phenomenal success of the RAZR. Still, a bit more into the slump and they might as well say sayonara. Strangely, right after they announced their plans to sell their mobile phone unit, the company’s stocks soared. I guess you should announce something like this every other day, Moto.

There’s still no official release date for the Everex Cloudbook. You might remember that they had delayed their supposed January 25th release to possibly the end of February. With the Cloudbook itself not released yet, one might wonder why there are talks about a Cloudbook XP driver. But according to Cloudbooker.com:
Paul Kim, the Director of Marketing for Everex, has confirmed via e-mail to me that Windows XP drivers will be posted on Everex.com.
The XP driver will apparently be showcased in the Everex.com web site soon. That’s great. After all, it was the gOS that caused the delay in release dates, right? And with Cloudbook’s 30GB storage, you won’t have to worry about space like in Asus Eee PCs. Still, we’d prefer seeing the Cloudbook itself first before more talks about peripherals and enhancements. Won’t you?
