Apple’s iPhone 3G can withstand most bumps and shocks. You might drop it here and there every now and then. So the smart choice would be getting some kind of protection of some sort. I always thought a case ruins the initial design, no matter what device we’re talking about. But a case is good, especially for eliminating the any scratch risks. OtterBox have just released quite a few iPhone 3G protection cases which will surely keep your iPhone safe. The Defender series comes in black for now but pink, white and black/yellow are to follow.

I recommend purchasing a pink design. It certainly looks different but by getting one you will also support the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. Each Defender design costs $49.95 which is quite a lot. 10% of that is almost 5 bucks donated for a good cause.

And your case will get protection. Both the touchscreen and the body. The screen is covered by a small membrane and the rest of the body is wrapped in silicon with all the ports remaining very accessible. What are you waiting then?
