OtterBox Designs Rugged iPhone Case

At $500 to $600, the Apple iPhone is certainly an investment you'll want to keep protected. And while that may mean purchasing an Apple Care plan to have in case of any unforeseen events or repairs that may be needed, you should also invest in a quality case to protect your precious phone. While there are a number of great iPhone cases already on the market, none are quite as rugged as the new design that the folks at OtterBox are working.

Known internally as the OtterBox 1940, this case will feature a "slick, slim fit, semi-rugged" design allowing for complete user interaction. So without further ado, here are the specs:

* Accommodates both 4 GB and 8 GB Apple iPhones * 3 Layers of Protection - The phone in its entirety is protected even during use as all surfaces are covered at all times * Touch interface is completely protected while still being fully useable through a patented touch-screen membrane * Sleep/Wake, volume and home buttons are all protected and useable via pass through buttons * Sync/Charge, headphone and silence functions are all usable through plugs * Case includes a swivel belt clip that provides full impact protection for the screen

Unfortunately, its going to be a few months til we can actually buy one of these as they are still working on the designs.
