Orange in France Gets Apple iPhone
It's about time (and official) - France will be getting the Apple iPhone exclusively through Orange. It is scheduled to go on sale on November 29. As in other parts of the world, Apple will be selling only the 8GB model and it carries a price tag of €399 including VAT. Of course, you will be forced to go into subscription for one of the "dedicated rate plans".
After having the iPhone for close to four months now, I must say I should have waited for iPhone 2.0. About the only time I use it is when looking up directions on Google Maps. Ever tried looking up a contact? With more than 600 contacts on my iPhone (which I carefully synced to my laptop over Bluetooth - from my Nokia N73), searching for someone whose last name you don't remember can be quite a pain in the wrong places.
