NYC Taxi Drivers to Have Cellphones Blocked While Driving?By Chris - 04/15/2009 5:07:00 AM |
The TLC or the Taxi and Limousine Commission of New York City has been thinking lately about block taxi drivers from using a cell phone while they’re driving a cab in NYC. That’s part of the “Taxicab Passenger Enhancement Program”. Is that fair? I mean everyone of us is taking cellphones to work. Sure driving while using a cellphone isn’t recommended but that’s why the mobile God up there invented hands-free devices which keep your hands on the steering wheel. After all I don’t care if the driver is chatting on the phone while he’s driving me to where I need to be. And let’s not forget that everyone is expecting calls all the time and some of them are real emergencies!
Where would we be without cellphones? What do you think, should cab drivers have their cellphone access blocked while working?
