NVIDIA Diving into NetbooksBy Maverick - 12/09/2008 1:54:59 PM |
Not at all surprising considering just how well netbooks are doing at retail, but NVIDIA has officially announced that they will join forces with Intel to enable NVIDIA chipset support to the Atom platform to enhance its graphics performance.
The graphics manufacturer’s MCP79 chipset will be the first to support Intel Atom processors. However, only nettops will be supported during the initial period.
Computer makers Asus, Gigabyte and MSI have said they welcome the partnership between NVIDIA and Intel. They believe the cooperation between these two companies will give the makers more pricing flexibility and add graphical prowess to their netbooks.
