Nuance buys Spinvox (voice-to-text)By Tony - 12/30/2009 11:45:09 PM |
Nuance Communication has announced today the acquisition of a new company named Spinvox, which works in the voice-to-text area.
According to Nuance, their goal is to speed up the growth of the voice-to-text business and also to meet the needs of the big market. Taking in consideration that there are over one billion operational voicemail boxes in the world which generate more than 150 million voicemails (per year) I’d say this is a hot niche.
With this deal Nuance expects to power up their growth in 3 areas: service quality, global reach, and innovation.
John Pollard of Nuance comments:
With SpinVox’s robust infrastructure, language support and operational experience, we will broaden the reach and capabilities of our platform.
