Nook Color for $150 Today OnlyBy Jeff Baker - 09/30/2011 4:34:20 PM |

Ever since HP dropped the price tag of the webOS powered TouchPad to $99 people have been speculating that a low price tag may be the only way to put a dent in the iPad’s near perfect track record. Of course, the TouchPad was on its way out when it was dropped to slow but tablets like the Amazon Kindle Fire priced at just $199.99 are expected to disrupt the tablet market.
If even $199.99 is too much for you but you still want a tablet that’s been critically acclaimed you’re in luck. It was just noted that the Barnes & Noble Nook Color has been dropped to just $150 for today only. Normally the tablet sells for $250 so this is quite the substantial price drop for a tablet that’s been so loved within the Android hacking community. If you’re wondering just why the Nook Color is so popular when it’s not even running a Vanilla build of Android it’s because hackers have gone as far as porting Android ‘Honeycomb’ to the tablet with not so much as a hiccup.
