The 5800 XpressMusic wasn’t the only thing that Nokia announced at the Nokia Remix Event, as the Finnish mobile manufacturer also unveiled its operating system’s next iteration, Symbian S60 5th Edition, and the “Comes With Music” service. We are not talking about an online store here but a deal where Nokia will bundle a subscription allowing access to millions of songs with a Nokia device. That’s right, any customer that buys a “Comes with Music” cell phone will have unlimited access to tracks for a year from almost all major record labels and independent musicians. If that doesn’t sound attractive, get this, the customer gets to keep all the songs downloaded afer the year expires. Sounds too good to be true, and we can’t see a catch in all this for now, but we’ll know if there’s something hidden somewhere when it starts selling in the United Kingdom on October 16, like an extra fee or DRM lockdowns.

The service will kick off in the UK before being rolled out in the rest of the world with the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, 5310 XpressMusic, and the N95 8GB becoming the first of a lot more devices to come with this offer. The new “Comes With Music” 5310 XpressMusic will be offered exclusively through Carphone Warehouseat a price of 129.95 pounds.
