Is Nokia getting ready for anything big? They have just launched a contest called Calling All Innovators. Mobile application developers worldwide can start creating applications for Nokia and hope to win one of the first prizes. Developers can prepare apps for one of the three categories available.

In Eco-Challenge you will have to create an eco-friendly application which will help mobile users to reduce their energy consumption. In Emerging Markets you will have to create an application which will offer solutions for education, health data access and anything else that would improve life in emerging markets. In Technology Showcase you will have to create applications using any technology that runs on Symbian S40 or S60.

Nokia has $150,000 ready for prizes. Each category has 3 prizes. First place will pay $25,000, second place will get yoy $10,000 and third place gets you $5,000. Besides that, Nokia will offer free trips to the Mobile World Congress in 2009 to all winners.

The contest has started on September 16 and it will end on December 15. Winners will be announced in January 2009. Well I guess you should start developing if you are good at it.
