Nokia Siemens to Purchase LTE and CDMA Assets from Nortel

Nokia Siemens is getting ready to pay $650 million to Nortel for all the LTE and CDMA assets of it. Nortel has been going through some tough times and consequently it filed for bankruptcy back in January 2009. That’s how Nokia Siemens ended up purchasing that huge LTE and CDMA chunk of Nortel which should come in handy some time in the future especially since Nokia is interested in strengthening its North American presence. The purchase should be completed by the third quarter of the year as soon as the US bankruptcy court and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice will approve it.
