Nokia Ovi Store Already a Success?By Chris - 05/27/2009 9:38:39 PM |
Nokia has just launched its app store and it looks like the Ovi Store is already a success. At least that’s the first conclusion given the fact that Nokia’s servers have been overwhelmed with traffic. Nokia said that “shortly after launching, it began experiencing extraordinarily high spikes of traffic that resulted in some performance issues.” Well if I were Nokia, I’d be happy to get all that traffic.
While it’s understandable for curious users to start accessing the Ovi Store we should judge Nokia‘s success in the app business later down the line. In the mean time Nokia will handle those traffic spikes by installing more server space. Your first Symbian downloads should be ready soon.
