Nokia N95 Updated Firmware Devoid of GPS Tracking

|

nokia n95Any firmware update is supposed to improve or correct the flaws of the current system. However, this is not the case for the infamous Nokia N95. According to UK’s The Register, the update has added new features but took away the GPS tracking feature from its Nokia Maps.

Nokia claims this GPS tracking feature was just a limited-time promotional offer. To avail that service again, N95 users must upgrade to the premium version.

Because only few geeks use this feature, Nokia can get away with such an annoying act. However, it creates tension among users because other services offered now for free might suddenly become premium contents. Nokia must weigh each decision and communicate constantly with their customers if they don’t want to alienate or infuriate its loyal customers.
