Nokia and ARC Transistance to Deliver Real Time Traffic Reports to Mobiles

Imagine driving through the interstate and checking your phone for the best route - with less traffic - to your destination. Well, you can probably do that as Nokia and ARC Transistance, the European network of automobile clubs, has gone into talks to provide users with real-time traffic information. This is said to be included in the new Nokia Maps 2.0, and in future versions of Nokia Maps.

With this integration, drivers will be alerted of traffic jams and conditions. This could probably shorten travel time and could result in a much safer for travel for citizens. When Nokia Maps receives the road updates from ARC Transistance, the application can dynamicly re-route during navigation and provide a faster route. This is a significant milestone for Nokia Maps, which makes navigation an even more compelling experience for Nokia device owners.
