So the folks out at Puremobile sent me a Nokia 6790 to have a look at, and sure enough, it’s another decent quality Nokia out of them.  About the worst thing you can do with this one is, interestingly, damn with faint praise.

See, the Nokia 6790 comes with a lot of interesting addons–there’s a GPS feature, an FM radio, web browser, XM radio, music player, shopping attachments and a whole lot more that I couldn’t use because once again the phone needs to be network connected.  Ironically, the FM radio didn’t need a network connection, but what it DID need was a set of headphones with a smaller jack than I had.

So, yay.

But lest you think you showed up for a review of nothing, there were still plenty of features I could try out, including the two megapixel camera, which worked nicely and easily, a notepad and voice recorder that went well, an awesome converter feature that I probably would’ve beaten a few people soundly for that’ll convert most any measurement from one kind to another, and a panoply of game demos including Guitar Hero and Monopoly, both of which were terribly fun.

But still, considering that this sucker retails for three hundred and twenty bucks over at Puremobile, you might want to go ahead and have a look around at other models.  This one just doesn’t have what some of the others do, and some of them do it for less.
