nokia_6682rvi.gifNokia has produced a “talking cellphone”, the Nokia 6682RVI, which was recently launched by Rogers Wireless. The handset comes equipped with a screen reading software, Nuance TALKS, to provide vision impaired consumers easy access to many of today’s advanced wireless features.

The phone takes the menus, instructions and content displayed on the phone’s display and converts it into audio delivered through the internal speaker, optical wired or Bluetooth headset. With the software users can send and receive emails and text messages, customize phone settings, monitor status indicators (battery, network, etc…), manage call logs, manage the phone book, and even use the calendar and notes features. Users may also easily increase/decrease volume and speaking rate. The software is available in English and French. With a 3 year contract, the Nokia 6682RVI will be available for only $199.
