No AT&T iPhone Pre-Sales

|

attlogoapple.jpg According to some inside AT&T documents leaked online, the Apple iPhone will be launched in the U.S. by AT&T, who will be the only wireless carrier and "will have exclusivity for the foreseeable future". The document also goes on to tout the features of the phone, claiming that the iPhone has "advanced software 5 years ahead of any phone."

The one question on everyone's mind when it comes to the iPhone is when will it be launched. We all know it'll be some time in June, but when? Well, sadly, this document fails to give us a definitive date. It instructs employees not to provide specific dates to customers as the exact date has not yet been announced. Pre-sales are forbidden, and the phone will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The hand-out tells us something else we already knew - there will be two models of the iPhone available, a 4GB retailing at $499, and a 8G retailing at $599. However, employees are also instructed not to speculate any further on pricing. In other words, if there are going to be any discounts for signing a long-term contract, AT&T is keeping it under wraps.

You can check out the document for yourself here.
