The last place on earth that one would think holds mobile subscribers would be Africa and apparently one region over there has over 61 million subscribers. The region in focus is Nigeria which has now surpassed South Africa as the largest mobile telecom market in Africa, and continued growth over the next five years is expected to trigger more intense competition among a growing number of network operators, according to a new report from Pyramid Research (www.pyr.com), the telecom research arm of the Light Reading Communications Network (www.lightreading.com).
“Communications Markets in Nigeria” offers a complete analysis of the country’s converged telecommunications, media, and technology sectors based on exclusive and proprietary data from Pyramid’s research in the Nigerian market.
