Recently, Japanese cellular provider KDDI released a Sharp waterproof, solar-powered cell phone, rumored to be renamed the SH002. Growing interest in both photovoltaic power as a green and clean source of energy and solar-powered devices has encouraged Sharp to globally release its new LR0GC02 solar module for mobile devices.
The LR0GC02 solar panel uses compact semiconductor packaging technology, which aids in keeping the panel thickness to a mere 0.8 mm. Sharp claims this is the thinnest level in the industry. The solar cells in the module are based on polycrystalline silicon and produce a top power of 300 milliwatts (mW). As an supplemental power source for mobile devices, the panel is designed to help save energy.

This is a great move forward! Good for Sharp!
I read an interesting article talking about how small units like this are good for the entire small-voltage market.
The article is titled, “Solar Does Make Sense for Small Applications” at http://economicefficiency.blogspot.com/2009/05/solar-does-make-sense-for-small.html
In not too long, your iPod will have a solar cell!
Many of the mobile devices started the solar panel recharging mathod recently.I think this is a brighter idea to go with.
