Nikon has announced their newest camera, the D90 DSLR and boy would we like to get our hands on it. It’s not necessarily the 12.3 megapixels or the EXPEED image processing that we’re after but rather the movie function which is a new feature for this family of cameras.

The D90 will record 320 x 216 pixels, 640 x 424 pixels or 1,280 x 720 pixels videos at 24 frames per second. The sensor is larger than the sensor of any other regular camcorder which means you’ll get
better image quality. Sure you will be limited in video length, but who says you can’t take several videos and glue them up later in your editing studio.

Other useful features include the Scene Recognition System, Live View, 3 inch screen, 0.15-second start-up, and 65ms shutter release time lag.

The pricing is as follows: the D90 body will be available for just $999.99 and $1,299.99 if you get the AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens also.
