New Mac Laptop Features? External Optical Drive and Multi-Touch Trackpad

Ah. Don't we all love rumors? The Macworld Expo's fast approaching and while we here in Mobilewhack prepare to go full-tilt into reporting you the latest in portable Apple gadgets, looks like Apple is also preparing for a surprise. In connection with the recent efforts of Apple to make their laptops less bulky, a rumor has it that they will showcase their new external optical drive technology. The external optical drive will be with the sub-notebook and hence, you can attach it to your laptop when you need it and leave it when you're on the move. Other than this, Apple is also supposedly releasing a new multi-touch trackpad on one of their notebooks. I guess we'll all see if these rumors are real by January 15th when the Macworld Expo kicks off.
