New Law Pass Banning Use of Cellphones

|

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has just signed a bill that makes it illegal for anyone aged 16 to 17 to use a cellphone, pager, laptop, or handheld computer while driving a vehicle. However, the new law will become effective starting July 1 next year. Personally, I think this is a good law. I mean, yeah, it does take away some right from the people however, it can save lives, I'm pretty sure of it.

arnold-nocellphone.jpgDetails of the new law include first time offenders to be slapped with a $20 fine while repeat offenders will have to pay $50. It's not so bad after all, wouldn't you agree? Well, most of the authorities will probably catch Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Lindsay Lohan, so those fines will be just peanuts for them.

Hopefully, this new law will minimize distractions when driving and increase attention on the road.
