NBC's MobiTV to Bring On-Demand TV to Mobiles

|

NBC Universal has struck a deal with the mobile television provider MobiTV to distribute on-demand programming of their hit shows over U.S. cellular provider networks. Users will be able to receive commercial-free episodes of "The Office”, "Heroes", "Monk", and other hit shows on NBC on their cell phones. Also, the MobiTV will offer five new channels of short-form programming from Bravo, SCI-FI Channel, USA network, Telemundo, and mun2. Currently there hasn’t been any announcement from any cellular carriers that will stream these shows. For roughly a $1.99 fee users can enjoy a 24-hour viewing period of these shows. Actual final rates will be set by participating cellular carriers. At this time, the companies have not announced any carriers to distribute the shows.
