We knew this was coming and it looks like it has been confirmed already. 6% of Motorola’s global employees will be fired. That’s 4,000 people in one move. 3,000 of these are coming from the handset division. Will this move have an impact on Motorola’s future cell phones?
Motorola has decided to reduce its number of employees after not that a great forth quarter. The preliminary reports show a 7-8 cent per share loss. If Motorola had better phones last year I am sure people would have bought more. And Motorola wouldn’t have had to fire all those people!
