Motorola Droid R2-D2 Edition Dropping On September 30thBy Jeff Baker - 08/13/2010 3:17:18 PM |

If you’ve been paying attention over the past couple of weeks you’ll know that Motorola and Verizon have been cooking up a special edition DROID 2 that is sure to please Star wars fans everywhere. This special edition phone, as we’ve told you in the past, is actually a Motorola DROID R2-D2 Edition, pictured above. There’s virtually no features that this device has over the normal Motorola DROID 2 but it does feature a neat paint job on the back of the device very reminiscent of the Star wars era (considering it depicts R2-D2, after all).
Anyways, while we’ve known about the device for some time we haven’t had an official release date. Luckily, a poster for the device went live earlier than those involved could have expected to let us know that the device will hit store shelves on September 30th, 2010.
The price point for the Motorola Droid R2-D2 has not been confirmed but we can’t see it costing very much more
