I’ve really been running through the Motorolas out at Sprint lately, and they’ve given me a lot to talk about.  Today we’ve got another one in the line, a strange sort of Motorola Blackberry called the Motorola Clutch i465.

The Motorola Clutch i465 is a candy bar style phone with full QWERTY keyboard.  It also offers conference call capability, speakerphone, Bluetooth connectivity, push to talk mode, mobile web, mobile email, text and multimedia messenging, a .3 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, 2.5 mm headphone jack, and a battery that offers two hundred and five minutes of talk time on a single charge.

One really interesting thing I noticed about the Motorola Clutch i465 was the keys on the QWERTY keyboard–they’re actually slightly raised, giving each key an edge over the others next to it.  I can see where that would make a lot easier to handle, and I certainly preferred using that keyboard to the normal flat keyboards you get on cell phones.  The textured keys really helped function there.  And there’s plenty to like here, even if some things are either distinctly missing or otherwise faulty.  That camera is weak sauce no matter how you define the terms and, frankly, is it too much to ask to add that extra millimeter on the headphone jack so I don’t need special headphones?

But still–for a relatively simple messaging phone, the Motorola Clutch i465 is a pretty good option.  If you do a lot of texting, then this may be the one you want to take the closest look at.
